The Royal Canadian Air Force Marine Service - A History

The Royal Canadian Air Force Marine Service - A History

$45.00

Very few will remember that the Royal Canadian Air Force once had its own “navy”. Moreover, this Marine Service was larger than some small navies with over 380 vessels of all descriptions, including ocean-going freighters, fast High Speed Launches (HSLs) right down to rowboats and canoes along with more than 900 personnel stationed across Canada.  This book details all of the personnel (where possible) along with the vessels in service by their class type, number and specifications, (where possible).  The main text provides the overall history of this unique service. Various appendices then provide the associated details for all the vessels, the personnel, the operations and the techniques used by this specialized branch of the RCAF. This book is profusely illustrated with photos and diagrams and includes colour profiles by accomplished artist, Karl Gagnon.

The hard copy version is a soft-cover, economy paper, full-colour version of this title with 356 pages and 400+ photos and diagrams covering the entire history the RCAF’s Marine Section, its vessels and its personnel.
